61 more Birangana included in freedom fighter list

The government has included more 61 Birangana (war heroines) in the list of freedom fighters for their contribution and sacrifice during the country's Liberation War in 1971.

The Ministry of Liberation War Affairs on Tuesday issued a gazette notification, saying the decision was taken at the 70th meeting of the National Freedom Fighters Council as per The National Freedom Fighter Council Act-2002.

With this new inclusion, a total of 400 Birangana received the status of freedom fighter.
