Charge-sheet in Major (Retd) Sinha Mohammad Rashed Khan murder case will be submitted to court by Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on Sunday, sources said.

The RAB investigation officer concerned is scheduled to submit the chargesheet at a court in Cox's Bazar district four months after the gruesome killing of Major (Retd) Sinha in police firing, sources at the RAB headquarters said on Saturday.

Launching the investigation, the RAB investigators have found the involvement of 15 persons in the brutal killing so far. Fourteen, out of the 15 persons, are now in jail after the arrest by RAB, sources said.

RAB said the chargesheet in the case has already been prepared. It would be submitted to the court at any time.

A total of 14 persons--former officer-in-charge (OC) of Teknaf Police Station Pradip Kumar, former inspector of Baharchhara Police Outpost Liaqut Ali, sub-inspector Nanda Dulal Rakhshit, ASI Liton Mia, constable Safanur Karim, constable Kamal Hossain, constable Abdullah Al Mamun of Teknaf Police Station, SI Md Shahjahan, constable Md Rajib and constable Md Abdullah of APBn, and three civilians--Nurul Amin, Nizamuddin and Ayazuddin of village Marishbunia in Baharchhara union of Teknaf--were arrested after cases were filed against them in connection with Major (Retd) Sinha killing. However, no evidence was found about the involvement of an accused who is also in jail.

On July 3 last, Major (Retd) Sinha along with his three associates got into 'Nilima Resort' in Cox's Bazar for the shooting of a video documentary for his Youtube channel travel show 'Just Go.'

The then OC Pradip Kumar of Teknaf Police Station learnt about it. He then instructed the constables working under him to "eliminate the video party at any cost from there." Since then Inspector Liaqut and SI Nanda Dulal Rakshit had been monitoring the movement of Major (Retd) Sinha.

Following a tree plantation programme of law enforcing agency in the morning of July 31, OC Pradip was informed that Major (Retd) Sinha went to Shamlapur hills with his private car. According to the directive of OC Pradip, Baharchhara Camp In-charge Inspector Liaqut Ali started keeping vigilance on Sinha.

At about 10:30pm on July 31, Major (Retd) Sinha was coming toward Cox's Bazar from Teknaf. His car was intercepted when he reached Shamlapur Checkpost. Then Major (Retd) was asked to get down from his car. As the army major got down from his car, police fired shots at him and he died on the spot.

On August 5, Sinha's sister Sharmin Shahriar Ferdous filed a murder case accusing nine persons including OC Pradip Kumar Das.

In the case, Baharchhara Police Outpost in-charge Inspector Liaqut Ali, who fired at Sinha, was made prime accused, while Teknaf Police Station's suspended OC Pradip Kumar Das was made No.2 accused.
