Hefazat Secy Gen Nur Hossain's condition deteriorates

Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh secretary general Nur Hossain Kasemi's physical condition deteriorated on Saturday morning.

He is currently undergoing treatment at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of United Hospital in Dhaka.

Nur Hossain was shifted to the High Dependency Unit (HDU) on Thursday afternoon as his oxygen and blood pressure levels dropped. Later, he was moved to the ICU following deterioration at 8pm, said his press secretary Munir Ahmed.

His blood pressure and oxygen level became normal on Friday morning which deteriorated again at night.

The senior Hefazat leader has tested negative for novel coronavirus, Munir Ahmed added.

On December 1, he was admitted to the hospital with cold-related complications.
