Ex-EBL chairman N H Khan passes away

Nurul Husain Khan, first chairman of Eastern Bank Ltd., passed away at his Gulshan residence in Dhaka on Wednesday.

He was 85.

N H Khan served as the Chairman of   EBL Board for long eight years from 1992 to 2000. He also served as the Chairman of NBR, Secretary of Internal Resources Division and Member of the Board of Governors of North South University.

He left behind his wife, a daughter and a son, grandchildren, and a host of relatives, friends and well-wishers to mourn his death.

Khan was buried at Banani Graveyard following his Namaz-e-janaza, held on Thursday at Gulshan Azad Mosque after the Zohr prayer.
