Barguna schoolgirl 'commits suicide'

A schoolgirl reportedly committed suicide at ward no:8 under Betagi upazila of Barguna district on Saturday night.

Deceased Ishrat Jahan Neha, a seven grader, was the daughter of Ruma Akhter in the area.

Neha, who lived with her mother, killed herself by hanging from a ceiling fan of the house at night.

Hearing cry of Ruma Akhter at early hours of Sunday, neighbours woke up and rushed in the spot. They suspect that Neha might have killed herself over love affair.

Being informed, a police team from Betagi Police Station recovered the body, OC Kazi Sakhawat Hossain Topu confirmed.
