Housewife killed in Mymensingh over land disputes

A housewife was killed reportedly by rivals at Gouripur upazila in Mymensingh district on Saturday over land disputes.

Deceased Parul Akter, 50, was the wife of Abdul Aziz, a resident of Sidhla village in the upazila.

Local sources said Abdul Aziz and his cousin Abdul Motaleb have been at loggerhead for long time over a piece of land.

They both locked into an altercation on Saturday morning. At one point, a clash took place between two groups of people that left six person critically injured including Parul.

Injured Parul was taken to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries in the evening.

Police, however, detained six person including Abdul Motaleb in this connection, Gouripur Police Station officer in-charge (OC) Md Borhan Uddin Khan confirmed.
