24 more die of COVID in country

With the deaths of 24 more people in the last 24 hours until 8:00 am on Friday, Bangladesh's COVID-19 death count now stands at 6,772.
During this timeline, 2,252 fresh cases were reported, taking the total virus cases to 4,73,991.
Health authorities also reported 2,572more recoveries in a day, taking the total number of recoveries to 3,90,951.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) confirmed the matter through a press release signed by Prof Dr Nasima Sultana, Additional Director General of DGHS, on Friday afternoon.
In the last 24 hours, 118 coronavirus testing laboratories across the country collected 15,527 samples and tested 15,430.
With this, a total of 28,36,411 samples were tested in the country.
Among the newly deceased, 20 were men and four women. Of them, 14 are from Dhaka; two from Chattogram and Barishal each; three from Mymensingh; and one from Rajshahi, Sylhet, and Rangpur divisions each respectively.
The infection rate is 14.59 per cent in the last 24 hours, compared to the samples tested while the overall infection rate is 16.71 per cent.
So far, the recovery rate is 82.48 per cent and the mortality rate is 1.43 per cent.
