COVID-19: 20 more die, 2,273 infected in Bangladesh

Bangladesh on Friday reported 20 deaths and 2,273 cases from coronavirus in last 24 hours.
The country's total death from COVID-19 now stands at 6,544 and cases at 4,58,711.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) confirmed the matter through a press release signed by Prof Dr Nasima Sultana, Additional Director General of DGHS, on Friday afternoon.
Health authorities also reported 2,223more recoveries in a day, taking the total number of recoveries to 3,73,676.
In the last 24 hours, 118 coronavirus testing laboratories across the country collected 15,922 samples and tested 16,378.
With this, a total of 27,29,580 samples were tested in the country.
Among the newly deceased, 17 were men and three women.
The infection rate is 13.88 per cent in the last 24 hours, compared to the samples tested while the overall infection rate is 16.81.
So far, the recovery rate is 81.46 per cent and the mortality rate is 1.43 per cent.
Bangladesh reported its first coronavirus case on March 8 and the first death on March 18.
