2 women among 3 held with 1.1kg heroin in Rajshahi

Police arrested three persons including two women with 1.1 kilograms of heroin worth Tk 1.10 crore from a place in the district last night, police said Thursday.

The arrestees were identified as Jamila Khatun, 30, Selenur Begum, 35, and Babu Ali, 20.

On a tip-off, a police arrested them from a Rajshahi-bound battery-driven auto-rickshaw at Gopalpur area on Rajshahi-Chapainawabgonj highway under Godagari upazila around 10.30 pm.

Subsequently, the police team seized three bags from their possessions and after search found the contraband narcotics , said Iftekhar Alam, Additional Superintendent of Police.

A case was recorded with Godagari Police Station in this connection.
