 Narail Municipal Mayor dies of dengue Md Jahangir Bishwas, Narail Municipality Mayor and general secretary of the district unit of Awami League, died of dengue at a hospital in Dhaka. He breathed his last around 12:20pm at Square Hospitals where underwent treatment. Jahangir Bishwas had been suffering from dengue fever since November 18. As his blood platelet decreased below 44,000, he had been sent to Dhaka. His cousin Shahin Akhter confirmed the matter. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of the Mayor. She prayed for the eternal salvation of the departed soul and expressed sympathy to the bereaved family.
