10-feet-long python rescued in Sirajganj

A 10-feet-long python has been rescued from Belkuchi upazila of Sirajganj district.

Local people spotted the python in a charland at Sohagpur area on Sunday. Being intimidated, some of them hit the snake on its head with a lethal weapon, leaving it injured.

Being informed, forest department rescued the injured snake in association with the Bird Safety House on Monday afternoon and sent it to the Wildlife Management and Nature Conservation Division in Rajshahi for treatment.

Rishikesh Chandra Roy, the upazila social forestry officer, confirmed the matter.
