Journalist Shafiqul Islam Kajol has secured bail in a case filed against him under the Digital Security Act.

A High Court bench of Justice M Enayetur Rahim and Justice Md Mostafezur Rahman granted the bail petition on Tuesday.

Kajol's lawyer Barrister Jyotirmoy Barua stood in the dock during the hearing.

But, the journalist can not get out from the jail now as two more cases under the DSA filed against him are still pending, said his lawyer.

Journalist Kajol went missing after leaving his office at night on March 10, a day after ruling party lawmaker from Magura-1 Saifuzzaman Shikhor filed a case against him and 31 others on charge of publishing a report with "false information".

A second case was also filed against him under the Digital Security Act on the same day.

The next day, his wife Julia Ferdousi Nayan filed a general diary with Chawkbazar Police Station.

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) rescued Kajol from Sadipur border area at Benapole at early hours on May 2.
