Elderly man dies being hit by motorcycle

An elderly man has been killed after being hit by a motorcycle at Akkelpur upazila in Joypurhat district.

Deceased Khoka Sarker, 80, was a resident of Sonamukhi Hindupara Mahalla under Akkelpur municipality.

Witnesses said a speeding motorcycle hit the man while walking beside a road at Bunarpara on Monday afternoon.

He was rushed to Akkelpur Upazila Health Complex. Later, he died at the hospital around 8:00pm while undergoing treatment.

Akkelpur Police Station officer in-charge Abdul Latif confirmed the matter.
