415 fire incidents cause Tk 26cr property damage in Barishal

Property worth Tk 27.21 crore was damaged in Barishal division in 415 fire incidents during ten months of this year --January to October.

A firefighter died and another was critically injured during those fire incidents.

Meanwhile, goods of Tk 52.68 core were also saved as fire fighting units reached the spots in due time and took timely steps.

ABM Mamatajuddin Ahmmad, deputy director of Barishal divisional fire service and civil defense directorate, disclosed the information.

On the other hand, 78 victims died, 401 were injured in 236 road and marine accidents during this period of time, fire service and civil defense sources added.

There are 38 fire service and civil defense stations, including 3 A-grade, 23 B-grade and 12 C-grade stations, in six districts of the division.

Bangladesh government has planned to increase the number of fire service and civil defense stations to more than 700 in the country.
