A three-year-old child was run over by a van at Gangni upazila in Meherpur district on Sunday morning.
Deceased Hujaifa was the son of Shafiqul Islam, a resident of Chougachha village in the upazila.
Local sources said Hujaifa was playing beside the Gangni-Kathuli road near house. The van ran over him around 10 am when he was crossing the road, leaving him dead on the spot.
Confirming the matter, Gangni Police Station Umaidur Rahman said police seized the van, but the van puller managed to flee the scene.
