Bogura COVID deaths reach 200

With the death of a septuagenarian man from COVID-19 on Friday night, Bogura death toll from coronavirus reached 200.

Israjul Haque, 70, died at Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital at night.

The district reported its first virus case in the body of a Dhaka returnee, a resident of Rangpur district, on April 1 this year.

Bogura registered the first death from the virus on May 22 when former Awami League (AL) lawmaker Kamrunnahar Putul died with coronavirus symptoms at the age of 65. Later, she tested positive for the deadly virus.

As of November 20, a total of 8,530 virus cases were reported here where 7,863 of them made recovery.

Among the deceased, 155 died in the months of June, July and August—51 in the first month and 52 each in other months.
