Police, in a raid on Wednesday, arrested 18 members of a racket of brokers from
Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (
RMCH).
Detective Branch of RMP conducted the raid following allegation against brokers for convincing patients to move to different private hospitals and clinics from the RMCH.
The arrested were, later, handed over to Rajpara Police Station. Three of them are female brokers.
RMP' senior assistant commissioner Rakibul Islam said the drive was conducted in the RMCH and Laxmipur areas on specific allegations.
He said during interrogation, the arrested mentioned the name of the mastermind.
"We're trying to nab this person," he added.
A case was filed against the accused.
They were sent to jail following a court order in the afternoon.
