Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Mayor Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh has urged shop owners to close all kinds of business establishment by 8:00pm in city corporation areas.

Mayor Taposh came up with the call while inaugurating  Sheikh Hasina Academic Building of Sher-e-Bangla Mohila Mohavidyalaya in city's Tikatuli on Wednesday.

"We want to bring the city under proper management. We want all business establishments and shops to  be closed by 8:00pm. Shops remain closed after a certain time in many countries. We can bring our overall activities under a proper management system if business establishments can be shut by 8pm," said Mayor Taposh.

He thinks the traffic congestion would be reduced if shops remain closed by 8pm and people can spend more time with their families.

Taposh sought cooperation from all to implement the initiative.

Earlier, the mayor also laid foundation stone of Azimpur Modern City Market.
