Leaders and activists of Khagrachhari's Dighinala unit BCL, who were deprived of any post in newly formed upazila committee, on Sunday blockade road and vandalised three tourist vehicles.

Police, however, detained three protesters from the spot.

Police and local sources said the Chhatra League men blockade the road in Dighinala bus terminal area and College crossing in the morning protesting formation of a upazila committee by 'married people' and 'non-students'.

They also brought out a protest procession and vandalised three vehicles of tourists.

On information, police rushed to the spot, chased the protesters and detained three BCL men.

Dighinala police OC Uttam Chandra Dev said the situation is now under control.

Meanwhile, upazila Awami League, in a press release issued on Sunday, postponed all organisational activities of the upazila unit  and Dighinala Govt College unit until further notice.
