2 held with drugs in Kurigram

Police detained two people alongwith drugs in Phulbari upazila of Kurigram district early Saturday.

The detained persons are Jewel Haque, 21, a resident of Kuti Chandrakhana village in the upazila, and Rakibul Hasan, 22, of Subharkuti village under Sadar upazila of the district.

On information, a team of police raided Jewel's house in the early hours and detained them with five bottles of phensedyl syrup, said Phulbari Police Station officer in-charge Rajib Kumer Roy.

Both of them were sent to jail following a court order on Saturday afternoon, he added.
