Driver dies in bus-pickup van collision; 4 injured

A pickup van driver died and four others injured in a collision between a bus and a pickup van at Bagharpara upazila in Jashore district on Saturday morning.

The deceased was identified as Mohammad Ibrahim.

Witnesses said the accident took place in Bhatar Amtola area near Khajura Bazar on the Dhaka-Jashore highway around 8:30 am, leaving Ibrahim dead on the spot and four others injured.

The injured were rushed to Jashore General Hospital, said hospital emergency department physician Dr Delwar Hossain.

The body of the deceased was kept at the hospital morgue.

Bagharpara Police Station officer in-charge Sayeed Al Mamun said filing of a case is underway in this connection.
