Worker killed as soil collapse in Joypurhat brick kiln

A brick kiln worker was killed when loose soil fell on him inside a brick kiln premise at Sadar upazila in Joypurhatdistrict on Wednesday morning.

The deceased was identified as Bandhan Pahan, 20, son of Bagen Pahan, a resident of Belaamla village in the upazila.

Joypurhat Sadar Police Station officer in-charge Alamgir Jahan said the accident occurred when a huge quantity of soil collapsed on the brick kiln worker while he was working there.

He was rescued and taken to Joypurhat Adhunik Hospital where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.
