Magician Jewel Aich in ICU

Ekushey Padak winner magician Jewel Aich, who contracted novel coronavirus, has been admitted to the incentive care unit (ICU) of the Combined Military Hospital (CMH).

His wife Bipasha Aich confirmed the news on Tuesday night.

She said Jewel Aich, also a freedom fighter, has been suffering from fever since November 4. He has tested COVID-19 upon doctor's advice which came out positive and showed that his lungs have also been infected.

The magician was taken to the CMH on Tuesday noon following deterioration of his condition.

Regarding his physical condition, Bipasha Aich said her husband is suffering from fever and cough. He has lost his sense of smell and taste. He is being given oxygen, although having no sign of breathlessness yet.

Jewel Aich is a diabetic patient.
