10 shops gutted in Noakhali

A fire at Khalil Miarhat Bazar in Senbag upazila of Noakhali on Tuesday morning burned down 10 shops causing a loss of around Tk 50 lakh.

Local sources said Haque Market at Khalil Miarhat Bazar caught fire when an electric wire torn off and fell on the market around 9:00am. The fire soon engulfed the adjacent shops.

On information, firefighter from Chowmuhani and Companiganj fire service and civil defence stations went to the spot and doused the fire, said Chowmuhani fire station officer Md Jahirul Islam.
