Two young men drowned in a pond in Dinajpur district town on Saturday.
The deceased were identified as Dip, 17, son of Chandan, of Chatrapara area; and Raja, 19, son of Abdur Rashid, 19, of Mission road area.
Locals said Dip slipped into the pond while making a boat trip in it at noon and drowned.
Raja also drowned when he tried to rescue Dip from the pond, they added.
Later, locals rescued the duo and take them to M Abdur Rahim Medical College Hospital where the on-duty doctor declared them dead.
Kotwali Police Station OC Md Asaduzzaman confirmed the matter.
