DB wants Erfan Salim on 28-day remand in four cases
The Detective Breanch of Police on Thursday pleaded to a court in Dhaka to place expelled ward councillor Md Erfan Salim and his associate Md Jahid on a total of 28-day remand in four cases filed under Liqour and Narcotics Control Act and Arms Act.

Producing before the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) court in Dhaka, Chakbazar Police Station inspector (Operations) Mohammad Delwar Hossain pleaded to the court to place the two accused on the remand.
Md Shawkat Akbar, acting general registration officer (GRO) of the court, said the court ordered to produce the accused on November 2 for remand hearing.

On Sunday night, the accused allegedly beaten and threatened bangladesh Navy's Lt Wasif Ahmed Khan. On the following morning, Wasif Ahmed Khan filed an attempt to murder case with Dhanmondi Police Station mentioning the names of Haji Salim MP's son Erfan Salim, AB Siddique Dipu, Md Jahid and Mizanur Rahman.

On the same day, a mobile court of RAB launched a raid at 'Chan Sardar Dada Bari' at 26 Debidas Lane in Chakbazar. RAB executive magistrate Sarwar Alam led the drive. Following the raid, the RAB mobile court jailed Erfan Salim and his bodyguard Md jahid for one year for keeping illegal walkie-talkies and liqour. Later at night, they were sent to the Dhaka Central Jail in Keraniganj.

In the evening, the RAB's Legal and Media Wing's chief Lt Col Ashique Billah told journalists that a  foreign-made pistol without licence, a one-barrel gun, a briefcase, liqour and yaba pills were seized from Erfan Salim's house. Besides, 38 to 40 different types of walkie-talkies were seized from his house which are generally used by law enforcing and security agencies.

 Lt Col Ashique Billah further said that they recovered bullets, a handcuff, a drone and three very high security (VHS) sets. Those were a modern version of walkie-talkies.

Besides, he said a torture cell was detected at the house where human bones, knives, hockey sticks and ropes were found.

On Monday, Erfan Salim's driver Mizanur Rahman was taken to a one-day remand by police in the beating case of Navy officer. In the same case, Erfan's associate accused Dipu was produced before a court where the investigation officer of the case pleaded to place him on a seven-day remand. Responding to the plea, the court placed him on a three-day remand.

On Thursday, Erfan and Jahid were taken to a three-day remand.
