More cases against Erfan Salim under way: RAB DG
Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) Director General Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun has said arrested Erfan Salim was given punishment in a case filed for possessing drugs.
Besides, different goods including arms, drugs and electronic devices were seized from his house. Cases will also be filed against him for those, he said.
He was talking to journalists after paying tributes to the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Tungipara in Gopalganj on Tuesday afternoon.
Regarding the recent growing incidents of rape and violence against women in the country, the RAB DG said persons involved in those incidents were arrested and they would be tried according to the law of the land.
Earlier, he paid tributes to the Father of the nation placing wreath on his mausoleum. He also offered father and special munajat seeking eternal peace of the departed souls of Bangabandhu and his family members.
RAB Headquarters' ADG (Admn) Mohammad Imtiaz Ahmed, Gopalganj Deputy Commissioner Shahida Sultana, RAB-8 Barishal CEO and Additional DIG Atiqa Islam, Gopalganj Police Superintendent Muhammad Saidur Rahman Khan, and senior RAB and police officials were present.
