MP Haji Salim's son sued for assaulting navy official

A case has been lodged against Mohammad Erfan Salim, son of lawmaker Haji Mohammad Salim, and three others for beating up a navy officer and also giving him death threat.
Victim navy official Lieutenant Wasif Ahmed Khan filed the case with Dhanmondi Police Station early Monday.
Ali Miah, the officer in-charge of the police station, confirmed the matter.
The other three accused are: Erfan's bodyguard Mohammad Jahid, protocol officer of Haji Salim's Madina group AB Siddiq Dipu and car driver Mizanur Rahman.
On Sunday night, Dhaka-7 MP Haji Salim's son and three others beat up Wasif in capital's Dhanmondi area after his motorcycle hit a little bit their car.
A video footage of the incident was circulated on social media where it was found that the navy official's teeth was broke down during the beating.
The victim filed a general diary with Dhanmondi Police Station at night.
In the GD, Wasif alleged that he and his wife were riding on the motorcycle. Suddenly, his motorbike hit a little bit to the government car holding a nameplate 'Lawmaker' near Kalabagan signal. Then, four people got down from the car and started beating Wasif. They also assaulted his wife and threatened to kill Wasif and his wife, he alleged.
Later, the four left the scene leaving the car behind as people started to gather around.
During the incident the member of the parliament was not present.
