Timber trader found slaughtered in Jashore

Police on Sunday morning recovered the slaughtered body of a timber trader from the Bhairab River in Sadar upazila of Jashore.

The deceased was identified as Golam Mostafa, 50, a resident of Churamankathi union.

The union parishad chairman Abdul Mannan said Mostafa went out of the house on Saturday night to collect his due ammount and did not return home.

The victim's son Habibur Rahman informed that his father was not involved in politics.

Kotwali Police Station OC Moniruzzaman said police recovered the body this morning and sent it to a local hospital morgue.

"We are trying to nab the killer," the OC said.
