5 missing after boat sinks in Patuakhali

Five people went missing after a speedboat with 18 people capsized in the Agunmukha River at Rangabali upazila in Patuakhali district on Thursday afternoon.

UNO Mashfaqur Rahman said a crack developed in the speedboat’s hull while it was going to Panipotti.

Thirteen passengers managed to swim ashore but five others went missing, said UNO Mashfaqur.

Divers are trying to rescue the missing passengers, he added.
