The death warrant issued against former state minister for Agriculture and Jatiya Party leader Syed Mohammad Kaiser by the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) has reached jail.
The warrant reached at Dhaka Central Jail at Keraniganj on Thursday afternoon.
Subhas Ghosh, jail super of the Dhaka Central Jail, confirmed it.
He said the death warrant was read out before the convict after it arrive at the jail. At that time, the convict said he would appeal (review) against the judgement at the section concerned of the Supreme Court.
On Thursday, the death warrant of Kaiser reached at the International Crimes Tribunal from the concerned section of the Supreme Court.
Earlier on January 14, the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court upheld the death sentence for Kaiser.
On December 23, 2014, the ICT-2 sentenced Syed Kaiser to death for murder, genocide, rape in Brahmanbaria and Habiganj during the liberation war.
On January 19, 2015, his lawyers appealed against the verdict. On July 10 last year, the appeal hearing of Syed Mohammad Kaiser began.
Later, he was sentenced to death for crimes against humanity in 1971 liberation war.
