Bangladesh reports 24 deaths from COVID-19

Bangladesh on Thursday reported 24 more deaths from novel coronavirus, taking the total tally to 5747.

Meanwhile, positive cases reached 3,94,827 as 1,696 more virus patients were detected in last 24 hours.

The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) confirmed the matter through a press release signed by Prof Dr Nasima Sultana, Additional Director General of DGHS, this afternoon.

In the past 24 hours, the recovery number stands at 3,10,532 as 1,687 more patients were declared free from the virus infection. 

During this time, another 14,958 samples were tested across the country.

Bangladesh reported its first coronavirus cases on March 8 and the first death on March 18.
