24 more virus deaths reported in country

With the deaths of 24 more people in the last 24 hours until 8:00 am on Wednesday, Bangladesh's COVID-19 death count now stands at 5,723.
During this timeline, 1,545 fresh cases were reported, taking the total virus cases to 3,93,131.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) confirmed the matter through a press release signed by Prof Dr Nasima Sultana, Additional Director General of DGHS, on Wednesday afternoon.
Health authorities also reported 1,704 bmore recoveries in a day, taking the total number of recoveries to 3,08,845.
In the last 24 hours, 110 coronavirus testing laboratories across the country collected 14,091 samples and tested 14,086 samples.
With this, a total of 22,06,411 samples were tested in the country.
Among the newly deceased, 19 were men and the rest five were women. Of them, 7 were from Dhaka, three from Chittagong, two from Rajshahi, one each from Khulna and Rangpur divisions respectively.
As of today, a total of 4,404 men (76.95 per cent) and 1,319 women (23.05 per cent) died from COVID-19 in Bangladesh.
The latest day's infection rate is 10.97 per cent, compared to the sample tested, while the overall infection rate is 17.82.
So far, the recovery rate is 78.56 per cent and the mortality rate is 1.46 per cent.
Bangladesh reported its first coronavirus cases on March 8 and the first death on March 18.
