Manna gives govt 7-day ultimatum to book N'ganj attackers

Nagorik Oikya convener Mahmudur Rahman Manna has issued a seven-day ultimatum to the government to take action against those who attacked while attending a programme in Narayanganj's Rupgnaj on Monday which left 30 injured.
"Every area under the Dhaka city would be blocked if the attackers of Narayanganj's rally are not brought to justice within seven days," warned Manna while addressing a protest rally in front of the National Press Club on Tuesday.
Nagorik Oikya arranged the programme protesting the attack on its convener.
"I have a video clip of those who carried out the attack, while Taimur Alam Khandakar lodged a GD against them. Actions must be taken against the culprits within seven days," said Manna.
Raising doubt on the government's justice regarding the attack" Manna further said, “Will they take action? They will not do it. Yesterday or day before yesterday left-wing parties blocked Paltan intersection. We will block the every area of the city seven or 15 days later.”
Ganashasthaya Kendra founder Dr Zafrullah Chowdhury, chief coordinator of Ganasanghati Andolan Junaid Saki and former DUCSU VP Nurul Haque Nur, among others, spoke at the programme.
At least, 30 persons including BNP chairperson's adviser Taimur Alam Khandakar and Mahmudur Rahman Manna were injured in the attack on the programme in Rupganj of Narayanganj on Monday.
The programme was arranged at Ruposhi Khandakar Bari to hold a doa mahfil seeking recovery of BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia and marking Taimur Alam's birthday.
