After reviewing the price of potato, the government has fixed Tk 35 a kg of the essential vegetable's price at retail market.
The new rate will be effective from Wednesday.
The decision was taken at a meeting among Department of Agricultural Marketing (DAM) and the representatives of cold storage owners, wholesale traders and government agencies concerned on Tuesday.
DAM Director General Mohammad Yusuf informed this on Tuesday.
On the other hand, the wholesale price was fixed at Tk30 per kg and at cold storage gate at Tk27 per kg.
Earlier, the DAM had set the maximum retail price of the potato at Tk 30 a kg, Tk 25 at wholesale market and Tk 23 at the cold storage gate.
