Former state minister AKM Mosharraf Hossain laid to eternal rest


Former State Minister for Energy, Power and Mineral Resources AKM Mosharraf Hossain laid to eternal rest at his family graveyard at village Kandigaon under Muktagacha upazila in Mymensingh district on Sunday.

Earlier, three namaj-e-janaza of Mosharraf Hossain who died of Covid-19 at the age of 83 at a private hospital in Dhaka on Saturday, were held.

The first namaj-e-janaza of Mosharraf Hossain, also Mymensingh South District president, was held at his residence premises in Mymensingh town after Zohr prayers. Moulana Shafiqul Islam conducted the namaj-e-janaza as the imam.

Hundreds of people from different parts of Mymensingh thronged the namaj-e-janaza of Mosharraf Hossain.

BNP vice-chairman Dr AZM Zahid Hossain, organising secretary Syed Emran Saleh Prince, former MP Abul Bashar Akand, Shah Shahid Sarwar, Shah Nurul Kabir Shahin, Mymensingh City BNP convener Professor Shafiqul Islam, joint convener Abu Wahab Akand, Jamalpur District BNP general secretary Wares Ali Mamun, Mosharraf's younger brother Mymensingh District BNP joint convener Zakir Hossain Bablu, son Rana, and leaders of BNP and its associate organisations attended the namaj-e-janaza.

After the namaj-e-janaza, the body of Mosharraf Hossain was taken to Muktagacha upazila. The second namaj-e-janaza was held at the Muktagacha Upazila Sadar playground after Asr prayer.

Later, the body was taken to his village home at Kandigaon where the third namaj-e-janaza was held after the evening. Afterward, his body was laid to eternal rest at his family graveyard.
