Govt committed to freedom fighters’ well being

Fisheries and Livestock Minister SM Rezaul Karim on Sunday said the present government was committed to work for the well being of the freedom fighters across the country.

The minister made the comment while addressing a cheque distribution programme at Pirojpur District Hospital on Sunday evening for sick freedom fighters' treatment.

Rezaul said the government has been offering free medical treatment, housing, monthly allowance, transportation, and other facilities to freedom fighters on priority basis.

Twenty-five freedom fighters received Tk 10,000 each for treatment at the programme.

Deputy Commissioner Abu Ali Md. Sajjad Hossain, additional superintendent of police Md. Shahnewaz, freedom fighter Goutam Chowdhury, MA Rabbni Feroz spoke at the programme with civil surgeon Md. Dr. Hasanat Yousuf Zaki in the chair.
