Drive to remove hanging cables halted till Nov

Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) has decided to keep the drive of removing all hanging cables stopped from now on till November.
 
DSCC mayor Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh took the decision at a meeting with Internet Service Providers Association of Bangladesh (ISPAB) and Cable Operators Association of Bangladesh (COAB) on Sunday.

The meeting was held at Nagar Bhaban in he capital.

He informed that from Monday, the cable operators will start work of replacing the wire underground at their own expenses and remove the hanging cables by the mentioned period.

On Saturday evening, leaders of the ISPAB and COAB called-off their three-hour strike from 10:00am-1:00pm after receiving assurance from the government on looking into their demands.

On October 12, the two organizations at a press conference announced their five-point demands, including of not to remove the hanging wires until any permanent solution.
