Man’s body recovered in Savar

Police have recovered the body of a man from Savar, on the outskirts of Dhaka.

Savar Model Police Station inspector (Investigation) Saiful Islam confirmed the matter on Tuesday night.

Deceased Rabiul Laskar, 41, lived in Mirpur area. He had a hotel business in the city.

Deceased’s brother Mizan Laskar said Rabiul came Ashulia around 4pm on Monday to meet him.

After that, Rabiul headed back home around 7pm. He last spoke to his daughter around 8pm.

Someone called his wife at midnight and said miscreant killed Rabiul. Since then, his mobile phone has found switched off.

Inspector Saiful Islam said his body was recovered from a jungle in Baliyarpur of Hemayetpur beside Jamuna Natural Park around 1pm on Tuesday.

A towel was fastened around his face. It is suspected that he might have been strangled.

His body was sent to Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital morgue.

Filing of a case is underway.
