UNO Waheeda discharged from hospital, taken to CRP

Former Ghoraghat UNO Waheeda Khanam, received critical injuries in an attack, was discharged from hospital on Thursday, after a month of treatment.

After release from the National Institute of Neurosciences & Hospital (NINS) around 12 noon, she was taken to the Centre for the Rehabilitation of the Paralysed (CRP) in city's Mirpur.

Zahed Hossain, head of the medical board that is overseeing her treatment at the NINS confirmed the matter.

Waheeda Khanam and her father Omar Ali Sheikh received critical injuries in an attack by assailants at her official residence on the upazila parishad premises early hours of September 3.

They were first taken to Rangpur Medical College Hospital and then Waheeda was airlifted to Dhaka.  

Waheeda's brother Sheikh Farid filed a case accusing some unidentified persons with Ghoraghat Police Station on that day.
