JMI chairman held for supplying substandard masks

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Tuesday arrested Md Abdur Razzak, chairman of JMI Hospital Requisite Manufacturing Ltd, in a graft case filed for supplying substandard N-95 masks to some government hospitals.
ACC Public Relations Officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya told media a team of the anti-graft body arrested Abdur Razzak from city's Segun Bagicha area around 12:30pm.
The other accused in the case are: Dr Jakir Hossain, former deputy director of central pharmacy; Dr Md Shajahan, assistant director; Ziaul Haque and Sabbir Ahmed, desk officers; Kabir Mahmud, store officer; and Md Yusuf Fakir, senior store officer.
On July 8, an ACC team led by its director Mir Md Jaynul Abedin Shibli quizzed Abdur Razzak.
