Migrant workers take to street again demanding extension of visas

Expat workers on Tuesday took to the street again and blocked the main road in capital's Karwan Bazar area demanding extension of their visas automatically and to stop harassment while giving tickets.

They brought out a procession and staged demonstration on the road this morning which created huge tailback from Karwan Bazar to Bijoy Sarani.

The demonstrators, later, left the road at 10:30am with the intervene of police, said Dhaka Metropolitan Trafic Division ADC Manzur Morshed.

The expatriates claimed that some of their visas are going to expire on Wednesday (September 30). But they yet not get any tokens to reconfirm Biman tickets.

The Saudi Airlines authorities today issue tickets to 400 expatriates under 2,301-2,700 numbers.
