Jashore CDC detainee flees from microbus

An inmate of Jashore Child Development Center (CDC) fled unlocking the door of a microbus on Monday noon while being taken to the centre after a health check-up at a hospital.

Fugitive Raju Biswas, a resident of Debkinandapur village at Boalmari upazila in Faridpur district, had been arrested for stealing onion. He was, later, sent to Jashore CDC on September 11.

Raju was sent to Jashore General Hospital in the morning after he felt chest pain and respiratory problems.

The CDC Medical assistant Nazir Ahmed said, “We took him to the hospital for check-up. Later, we went to buy medicine for him, keeping Raju inside the microbus and locking from outside. After buying medicine, when we returned to the microbus, we did not find Raju inside the vehicle.”

A general diary has been lodged with Kotwali Police Station, said Jashore CDC director Jakir Hossain.
