PM’s 74th birthday celebrated in Gopalganj
The 74th birthday of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, also president of ruling Bangladesh Awami League, was celebrated in Gopalganj district on Monday through various programmes.
Celebrating the day, Tungipara upazila unit Awami League paid homage to the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by placing floral wreaths at his graveyard.
They offered Fatiha and joined a munajat at the mazar seeking eternal peace for the departed souls of Bangabandhu, and other martyrs of August 15, 1975 massacre, and wishing long life of Sheikh Hasina.
Later, a discussion was held at the upazila AL office.
Among others, the upazila AL president Sheikh Abul Bashar Khair, general secretary Md Babul Sheikh, former president Ilias Hossain, Tungipara municipality AL president Sheikh Saiful Islam and general secretary Forkan Bishwas, spoke.
Meanwhile, the district Mahila AL cut a birthday cake after paying homages to the Bangabandhu.
The Mahila AL president Nasima Akter Rubel, general secretary Mahmuda Begum and activists and leaders were present.
Besides, the district unit Bangladesh Chhatra League planted 74 trees at the district AL office and Government Bangabandhu College premises celebrating the 74th birth of the prime minister.

Besides, various programmes were also arranged in other upazilas of the district to celebrate the birthday of the prime minister Sheikh Hasina.
