Nila Roy murder: Key accused Mizan held
Police arrested Mizanur Rahaman, the prime accused in Savar schoolgirl murder case, from Hemayetpur area in Savar, on the outskirts of Dhaka, on Friday night.
Arrested Mizanur Rahman, member of a teenage gang, was a resident of Bank Colony area in Savar.
Confirming the matter, Savar Model Police Station inspector Saiful Islam said the law enforcers along with Mizanur conducted a drive in the Hemayetpur area at night and recovered the knife used in the killing.
With the arrest of Mizanur, all the accused in the murder case have been arrested, he added.
On September 21, Nila Roy, 14, a 10th grader at Aced School in the area, and daughter of Narayan Roy, was hacked allegedly by stalker Mizan in the Bank Colony area.
Locals rescued Nila and took her to Enam Medical College Hospital where the on-duty doctor declared her dead.
Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-4 arrested Mizan's parents Abdur Rahman and Nazmun Nahar Siddiqa from their residence at Savar Bank Colony Earlier on Thursday night.
The couple were placed on a two-day remand on Friday.
