Narayanganj mosque explosion death toll climbs to 33

The death toll from an explosion at Narayanganj Baitus Salat Jam'e Mosque rose to 33 on Saturday with the death of two more victims.

Burn victim Farid, 55, died at Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery this noon while undergoing treatment.

Dr Samanta Lal Sen, coordinator of the institutions, confirmed the death news.

The condition of the rest three was slated to be critical. 

Abdul Aziz, 40, breathed his last at early hours.

A massive explosion at Baitus Salat Jam'e Mosque in Paschim Talla area of Fatulla under Narayanganj Sadar upazila on September 4 left 33 people dead till today.

Meanwhile, three separate probe bodies have been formed by the Fire Service and Civil Defence, Titas gas authorities and the district administration in the incident.

On September 13, the Appellate Division stayed the High Court order asking Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Limited to pay Tk 5 lakh to each of the families of the victims over the explosion in a mosque in Narayanganj.
