Woman, daughter drown in Noakhali

A woman and her two-year-old daughter have drowned in a pond in Hatiya upazila of Noakhali.

The deceased were identified as Aklima Begum,22, wife of Sohrab Uddin of Megh Fasson village, and her daughter Mariam Salma.

Hatiya police OC Abul Khayer said the victms were taking a bath in a pond on Saturday afternoon.

At one stage of bathing, the girl drowned in the pond.

Aklima also drowned while trying to save her daughter.

Thei floating bodies were recovered later.
