![]() Narayanganj mosque blast death toll hits 28 after one more dies With the death of one more person, who suffered multiple burn injuries in the blast at a Narayanganj mosque, died at Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery Tuesday evening. Abdul Hannan, 50, died around 6:45pm while undergoing treatment with 85 percent burns, Dr Samanta Lal Sen, coordinator of the burn institute confirmed media. With him, 28 people, including a child have so far died in the tragic incident, said the doctor. Eight other people are still undergoing treatment at the hospital in Dhaka. Those currently undergoing treatment are in critical condition, said Dr Partha Shangkar Pal, a resident physician at the institute. The explosion happened at Pashchim Talla Baitus Salat Mosque in Fatulla of Narayanganj around 8:45pm after Esha prayers on Friday. There has been widespread allegation that the explosion was caused by gas that leaked from underground pipeline and accumulated inside the ground floor of the mosque. SZA |
