Freedom fighter Ismail Hossain Bengal dies

Freedom fighter and Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) Presidium member Ismail Hossain Bengal died from coronavirus infection at a city hospital on Monday.
Bengal, the Bengal Platoon commander during the Liberation War, breathed his last at Green Life Hospital around 1:30pm.
LDP joint secretary general Tamijuddin Titu confirmed the matter.
A politician and businessman, Bengal was one of the founders and organizational secretary of the Muktijoddha Sangsad.
The war hero was nominated by the Jatiya Party in the 1988 elections in the former Chandpur-6 (now Chandpur-4) and Dhaka-10 (Ramna) constituencies.
Meanwhile, Gonoshasthaya Kendra founder and trustee Dr Zafrullah Chowdhury has expressed deep shock at the death of the Ismail Hossain Bengal.
