County's virus death toll surpass 4,000 mark

With reporting 45 more deaths in last 24 hours, Bangladesh's COVID-19 death count crosses 4,000-mark.
The total deaths from the novel coronavirus in the country now stands at 4,028.
During this timeline, 2,545 fresh cases were reported, taking the total virus cases to 2,99,628.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) confirmed the matter through a press release signed by Prof Dr Nasima Sultana, Additional Director General of DGHS, on Tuesday afternoon.
Health authorities also reported 3,881 more recoveries in a day, taking the total number of recoveries to 1,86,756.
In the last 24 hours, 91 coronavirus testing laboratories across the country collected 14,788 samples and tested 14,153 samples.
With this, a total of 14,70,191 samples were tested in the country.
Among the newly deceased persons, 44 were men and a woman. Of them, 25 in Dhaka, nine in Chattogram, two in Rajshahi, four in Khulna, two in Barisal, two in Mymensingh and one in Rangpur divisions.
Of the total 4,028 deaths from coronavirus, 3,169 were men (78.67 per cent) and 859 were women (21.33 per cent).
The infection rate is 17.98 per cent in the last 24 hours, compared to the sample tested.
So far, the infection rate is 20.38 per cent, the recovery rate is 62.33 per cent and the mortality rate is 1.34 per cent.
